Our Vision: Help people understand and benefit from the healing power of horses through therapy, education, and entertainment
Dee Lux Miniature Therapy Horses is a nonprofit organization based in West Chester, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. Our mission is to help those who are sick and struggling through the incredible healing power of horses. I grew up on the back of a horse, and these creatures have helped me in my darkest times. After losing one of our quarter horses, we didn’t want our gelding to be alone, and ended up with our first miniature. Right away, he had a calming presence that we knew we wanted to share with people. We trained him, got him certified as a therapy horse, and started taking him to my grandmother’s retirement home. It’s incredible to watch people melt over these animals. I’ve learned that this experience is something that I love sharing with people. I’ve taken our now 3 miniature horses to retirement homes, rehabilitation centers, Ronald McDonald, parks, and birthday parties. They love the attention as well as bringing happiness to people just as much as I do.
