Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. He is inquisitive and spunky and ready to learn. He stands about 29” tall as our third American Miniature Horse. He is sweet, loving, and eager to go on an adventure. Our mission is to help those who are sick and struggling through the incredible healing power of horses. I grew up on the back of a horse, and these creatures have helped me in my darkest times. After losing one of our quarter horses, we didn’t want our gelding to be alone, and ended up with our first miniature. Right away, he had a calming presence that we knew we wanted to share with people. We trained him, got him certified as a therapy horse, and started taking him to my grandmother’s retirement home. It’s incredible to watch people melt over these animals. I’ve learned that this experience is something that I love sharing with people. I’ve taken our now 3 miniature horses to retirement homes, rehabilitation centers, Ronald McDonald, parks, and birthday parties.
